Construction Tax Accountant, South Florida

Apply your tax and accounting skills with a variety of clients, it offers you the opportunity to provide outstanding service to the firm’s clients and within the firm in the following areas:

Duties –

Prepare and/or review personal, business, estate, and trust tax returns. Resolve technical questions.

Make recommendations for refinement of engagement procedures.

Be alert to client needs through all phases of the engagement. Keep clients informed on financial and other business developments in their organizations and industries.

Hone your skill in supervising and prioritizing simultaneous engagements and delegating duties.

Communicate effectively with clients on a one–on-one basis.

Required Skills:

At least 2 years experience in a public accounting firm.

A heavy construction tax experience background is preferred.

Solid grasp of personal and business tax returns within a public accounting firm.

Member in good standing with appropriate professional organizations.

Highly competent in MS Office and other service area-specific software. Experience with QuickBooks.

Experience with CCH Axcess’s tax software. Unwavering attention to details, deadlines, and confidentiality.

Impeccable professionalism. Innate ability to build rapport with all levels within an organization and with a wide variety of clients.

Willing and able to travel to client sites around SW Florida.

Asking for advice – There is an art in asking for advice and maybe these tips will help.

Call during normal business hours. Ask if it’s a good time to talk.

Once you’ve got my attention – LISTEN. Stop talking and start listening and write down the advice I’m giving. I can’t tell you how many people don’t take notes and then expect me to repeat myself again when they call back days later. There is nothing wrong with taking notes – take them!

Be humble, gracious, and polite.

If you don’t like the advice, don’t argue with me about it. You asked – I gave you my opinion. Take it and use it or don’t use it. Or just use what works for you – it’s your job search.

Don’t assume I’m a miracle worker – it’s you who must do the hard work finding a job. Most people don’t get placed by a recruiter -they have to find their own job.
